During the ongoing COVID 19, It’s necessary to take various precautions and measures to keep your family healthy.
Hence, I thought of sharing the home remedies which I use for my babies to fight cough and cold.
Let’s get started:-
- Ajwain Potli
Take a teaspoon of Ajwain or carom seeds and roast it on a pan, let it cool down a little then wrap it in a cotton or muslin cloth.
when it’s is still warm apply it on your child’s chest, and during night time keep on both sides of the pillow so that they can inhale it when they sleep.

2. Honey and cinnamon
Take a teaspoon of honey (preferably organic) and add a pinch of cinnamon powder to it. Mix it properly and give it once or twice to your child.

3. Turmeric Milk
Take 4 tablespoons of milk, warm it up a little and add 1 tablespoon of Turmeric powder. Serve the milk while it is warm to your child.

4. Mustard oil with Garlic
Take 250ml on Mustard oil, cut and add 10 garlic cloves to it, keep this mixture for 2 hours then boil it for 5 min. Once it cools down to apply it on your child’s palm, feet, chests, and back. You can easily store the remaining in a glass bottle and use it for regular massage.

5. Eucalyptus Oil
This remedy works very well if your child has a nose block, just take an earbud and dip it in the Eucalyptus oil and apply it on your child’s clothes near the collar. Let them inhale the smell. Ensure you apply just a little as the smell is too strong and should not be applied directly to the skin.

These are the most commonly used home remedies at my house, not only for kids but we adults also follow some regularly.
Do try these and let me know your feedback!
